REMA TIP TOP - STAHLGRUBEREstablished way back in 1923, selling screws and small metal parts, seventy five years later Rema Tip Top has become a global giant with subsidiary companies and agencies in 150 countries worldwide and an annual turnover of DM 1 billion. It employs 4,800 employees and the operations are divided into three divisions - Trade, Automative and Industries. Rema Tip Top is known world over for their pioneering efforts in Cold Vulcanizing repair materials. Developed in the 1940s this technique enables heat resisitant tube repairs, courtesy of the renowned 'orange scalloped patch'. This willingness to try and find new solutions to old problems has been at the heart of Tip Top's success over the years and has lead to an even more sofisticated and diverse product range; one which currently includes in excess of 140,000 items.
The company has two production plants at Furstenzell and Poing. Apart from this Rema Tip Top operates three processing plants and several vulcanising plants in Germany and South Africa.
Another significant step forward for Stahlgruber was the
opening, four years ago, of a hi-tech central warehousing and logistics centre in
SulzbachR- osenberg. The complex consists of five main departments, each for particular
products, and up to 80,000 different items are held in stock; also a guiding system for
high-lift trucks, facilitating the transport of pallets, and the entire process is
controlled by a central warehouse computer which ensures order processing
and stock control. The computer is directly linked to the Munich head
office.
Nobody could deny that Stahlgruber's history is impressive, but
the company has never been one to rest on its laurels and its market-leading position is
the result of shrewd forward planning, coupled with constant innovation.

The Testing laboratory ensures that before production commences all raw materials are checked for conformity to specification all conveyor belts are checked and controlled during the production process.
